TUKIE TALES™: A New Beginning for a Better Tomorrow

SISTERS ON A MISSION TO MAKE A BETTER FUTURE FOR ALL CHILDREN

We’re sisters and best friends and we wrote TUKIE TALES™ together. After we grew up, we had families of our own and watched the daily news. The terrible things happening around the world was harming so many people and it was very distressing. We had to do something to try to help the situation. Teaching positive values to all children is the answer. We want to be part of the solution.

TUKIE TALES Children's Book Series uses positive reinforcement to teach children important life skills. All the stories leave the child feeling empowered to repeat the positive values.

Books are 8.5 x 11 inches with full page color illustrations. Click on the links above or on the Book Covers to see some of the illustrations in each book.

We're trying to provide a POSITIVE INFLUENCE to make a better future for all children, one child at a time.

BOOK REVIEW "I love this story.  I enjoyed how Jake and Amy didn't argue or bicker about getting lost.  The animals all helped one another.  The kids were sorry for getting lost and learned a lesson.  This story had subtle themes: respect your parents, admit when you've done wrong, care for one another.  Some how these basic concepts have become lost in our society and Tukie Tales is working to bring them back!  I can't wait to read more books in the series with my children."-AsTheyGrowUp.com

We believe today’s parents are ready for something different, and TUKIE TALES™ is ready to deliver. Imagine a world where people treat each other with respect, kindness, and would care about other living things. These concepts can change the course of the future. Children hunger for knowledge and acceptance. We need to be proactive and uplift them to give them the tools they need to succeed. We stand up against bullying too. We wrote our stories in honor of all victims of violence.

Children start to understand the concepts in the books when they are around 4 years old. Even though they don't know how to read yet, this is the time they can learn important life skills of imagination, safety, persistance, cooperation, teamwork, helping, and kindness. They need self-confidence and can learn to "do the right thing". These concepts are woven into the storyline of TUKIE TALES™. Since they can learn about these concepts before they can read, we wrote the series so an adult or older child can read to the small child. Reading to children also creates a bonding experience.

The series has a continuing storyline arc that unfolds within each book. The first book in the series, LOST! starts in late Spring. The last book, KINDNESS COUNTS! ends in early Spring of the following year, a complete year in the life of the characters and nature. The seasons change and the characters grow older. The apple tree branch at the top of all the text pages displays how apple trees change during the seasons. The flowers and plants on the bottom of the text pages are different types of flowers and plants that can be seen during each season. We thought these little details can help children appreciate the beauty of nature.

TUKIE TALES™ gives valuable insight that doing good things for others makes us feel good.

The characters are Tukies, young forest animals, and a young brother and sister named Jake and Amy. Tukies, mythical creatures from another world, have special powers humans don’t have. They use their special powers to help others – well, most of the time! The youngest Tukie is very mischievous and likes to play little tricks on his friends, much to the delight of young children. They live in a mystical forest and have a wish rock that helps to make wishes come true.

TUKIE TALES™ is a "problem solving" series of fun books for children. Parents can use TUKIE TALES™ as fun and entertaining tools to teach their children about safety, positive values, and appreciation of nature.

TUKIE TALES™ is dedicated to our children, our grandchildren, and all children of the world.

The five stories in TUKIE TALES™ are not written in the standard style of "good verses evil". We believe in doing things differently. They are written in a way so that very young children will not be frightened while learning life skills.

BOOK REVIEW "One spring day, Jake and his younger sister Amy were playing in the backyard. A strange noise lured them into the forest. They met some wonderful animals who could talk! While exploring, Jake and Amy got lost and didn't know which way was home. The Tukies and many other animals said they'd help them find their way home. How can animals help though? Why are they talking to Jake and Amy? Time to do some exploring of your own and find out. This book is one of the cutest ones out there for young children. The characters are fun and the story is well written and includes a moral. I love that children can learn a lesson while enjoying a colorful story. I recommend this to all parents. I didn't find issues in this one. I gave this one 5 out of 5 books because children need more books that include lessons or morals in them."-HaveYouHeardBookReview.blogspot.com

BOOK REVIEW "Tukie Tales: A New Beginning for a Better Tomorrow by Debbie Burns and Patty Cockrell are a cute little series of books about a group of woodland creatures who work together to solve problems. In the debut book of the series, "Lost!", the Tukies help Jake and Amy, siblings who get lost inside the forest. Each of the Tukies have a unique ability, such as mind-reading or the ability to levitate items, that make it easier to solve the problems they face. The kids here loved Tukie Tales... It is beautifully illustrated and the story is entertaining."-3Garnets2Sapphires.com

BOOK REVIEW "This was a fun book that makes your children think about how they would solve the problems that are presented to the main characters which is something that I love to see in children's stories. On top of this, the characters were fun and memorable, and my daughters loved hearing about them and asked if there were other books like this. I for one am looking forward to watching for more books in the future from these authors!"-DadOfDivas.com

I'm 80 years old and my granddaughter showed me this site and is typing for me. Your mother sounds like a wonderful woman and I wish I could have known her. We also watched the video from their facebook page that was made in her memory. We thought it was very loving and it touched us. We downloaded the free eBook of LOST! too and we could see that their mother was a powerful influence on her daughters. We both feel the sisters who wrote this book are truly on a mission to help children. We are looking forward to buying the series when it is done so we can share these values with our family for years to come.

I have all the books in the series now and my grandchildren want me to read them to them every time they visit us. They love the stories and think the special abilities of the Tukies are cool! I like the books too because my grandchildren are learning positive character traits like self-confidence, teamwork, helping others and kindness. All these good things plus the importance of nature, doing the right thing and all kinds of safety issues too. As you can tell, our family are big fans of the sisters and their book series. Well done!
